Mala is 37" long (total circumference of the mala), and hangs about 17" down the body when worn as a necklace

This mala features 108 beads, hand-knotted in traditional style between each bead. The beads are each 8mm in diameter.
All of our pieces are knotted on a durable rayon-based cord, a Vegan alternative to silk that significantly enhances the longevity & durability of your mala.

We work with several small businesses & artisan suppliers to source the components of our pieces and to package & ship our pieces in the most environmentally-respectful way possible. We use recycled boxes & padded envelopes that are made with recycled newspapers to ship your orders, and we minimize plastic packaging at all costs.
Our business cards, thank you cards, and printed materials are created with soy-based ink on FSC-Certified recycled paper. In addition to the measures we take at Empower Malas, Etsy offsets 100% of carbon emissions from shipping by funding verified emissions reduction projects through 3Degrees. All mala & jewelry creations are handcrafted in and shipped from our Kaneohe, Hawaii-based studio. Our studio is smoke-free, and pieces are stored in a climate-controlled environment to minimize allergens & tarnish to the materials. Please note that we do use many vintage metal findings & components in our designs, so some natural tarnish, patina & wear is present that adds to their beautifully unique character. Natural fractures do occur within certain gemstones, and this is not indicative of damage but is a characteristic of natural (non-synthetic) stones. We do our best to represent these characteristics in our photos as accurately as possible.
